Leave social media and cherish the ones you love. We did See you in 2019.

Christmas starts in November. That’s what brands want you to think at least. Holiday season lost all of its Holi (=holyness) and gave way to a global, even if unconscious, feeling of solitude.

Everyone’s posting and caring for their profiles, gifting away their Christmas bonuses and catching up with the people in their lives that they could have remembered the months before.

But they didn’t. You didn’t. We didn’t.

We needed to feel like we are making a difference, no matter how small it is. As such, we took a stand and decided to shut off our social media accounts until the start of 2019, so we can’t get in the way of your relationships and cherishing every moment with those around you.

The next time you find yourself scrolling deep into a newsfeed of the same old pictures, quotes or meaningless updates of people you don’t even care much about, remember this: your parents, siblings and close, actually meaningful friends, exist. And they are an invaluable part of your life.

So go ahead, close down this tab and call them. Tell them you love them, tell them how much they mean to you. And do it tomorrow too, or at least once a month. Don’t wait around for Christmas – that’s what everyone else will do!

If you already do it on a regular basis and find all of this text as meaningless and holier than thou as taking a holiday to celebrate love and friendship, good for you. We mean it. And we love it.

Take care and have the best Christmas the world can bring you.

See you next year,
upp is Out.
